This initiative is a great idea, real weather stations where the weather is most important to the rural sector, and NOT at airports. It is a project that involves the Department of Environment and Conservation, and the Department of Agriculture and Food. Not BoM stations. So long as politics and religion are kept away from the data.
FARMERS, emergency service agencies and agriculture students are benefitting from the rollout of 70 new weather stations across the south-west by the Department of Agriculture and Food WA (DAFWA).
Stations in new locations join another 50 existing devices spread across the land division and following the March 9 State election will feed critical weather information into an interactive online oracle, run through the DAFWA website.
