Do Oil and Gas get Subsidies? The Truth and not the Spin

The quote that Oil, Coal and Gas are subsidised to whatever amount is TRUE.

The Renewables industry and to a lesser state the government quote that Oil, Coal and Gas are subsidised to the tune of £3.7 billion. Is this true or spin? They quote wind is free but then at point of origin so is oil, gas and coal. It is the extraction and transport that costs money in exactly the same way that wind is saddled with these costs. The difference is the density of energy. Read the book Power Hungry by Robert Bryce and that defines the density of the different elements. Wind energy will require some £16 billion of infrastructure to deliver energy to the consumer. Add that to construction, maintenance and ground rent and demonstrably wind energy is not free and is in fact a great deal more expensive than alternative energies.
